Manager, Women in Waste’s Economic Empowerment (WWEE) Activity, EcoWaste Coalition

Angelita “Anj” Aguilos is dedicated to empowering women in the waste sector. As the Manager of the Women in Waste’s Economic Empowerment (WWEE) Activity at EcoWaste Coalition, she leads initiatives to support women waste workers in Manila, Philippines. Anj is a certified Trainer of Johns Hopkins University’s SEE Change Empowered Entrepreneur for Basic Business Empowerment Skills Training (BBEST) and has successfully trained over 500 women waste workers. She has also facilitated the inclusion of women waste pickers in government-led consultations for the Informal Waste Sector.

With over 10 years of experience in the developmental field, Anj is a licensed educator who has led programs focusing on Disaster Risk Reduction, Solid Waste Management, and Livelihood. Her commitment to advocating for women in the waste sector is deeply inspired by the stories of the women she supports through WWEE.
