Dr. Parimita Mohanty, with over 20 years of experience, is a recognized expert in sustainable energy, energy transition, and climate change. She currently serves as a Programme Manager at UNEP’s Asia Pacific Office in Bangkok, Thailand, where she co-manages the EmPower programme and works with financial institutions to establish financing instruments for renewable and low-carbon technologies. Dr. Mohanty has designed and implemented policies, strategies, and climate action plans in over 15 countries. Previously, she held roles at The Climate Group and TERI, where she led the Centre for Distributed Generation. She has initiated over 50 collaborative projects and authored seven books and numerous publications. Dr. Mohanty holds an M.Tech and a PhD from IIT Delhi. Outside of work, she is an avid cricket player who has represented Odisha and East Zone in national-level matches in India.
