Susan Wingfield is a Programme Management Officer at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with 20 years of experience in environment, sustainability, and development. In her role with UNEP’s Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions, Susan focuses on the implementation and governance of multilateral environmental agreements, particularly in chemicals and waste policy. She plays a key role in facilitating negotiation processes, including the new treaty to end plastic pollution, and provides extensive policy and capacity-building assistance in ship recycling. Susan also oversees the human rights and gender portfolios within the Secretariat.
Prior to joining UNEP, Susan held various project management and consultancy roles with the UN, World Bank, UK government, and in the finance and IT sectors.
